At rivendell house we use the resources at hand to offer you…

  • peace on earth and goodwill to man. this was announced on the day of Jesus’ birth. we long to see it happening everyday. at Rivendell House all are welcome who are willing to listen, learn, and grow from where they are…wherever that is.

  • We seek to provide places for silence, rest, and peace. we seek to provide room for grief, wrestling, and questioning. We also expect to find joy, solutions, and community in unexpected places.

  • We welcome broken and beautiful humans to connect with each other, the divine, their community, and life itself. We expect miraculous results.

  • We live in a world of abundance and we want everyone to have enough and are willing to work toward that with you or your organization. We can only give what we have. But what we have, we freely give.

  • We wrap the entire effort of Rivendell House and your endeavor in prayer and we believe without this foundation nothing will change.

    We seek to provide spaces for you to learn on your own, from the divine, and with others. Let us know what you are exploring and let us help you take the next steps.

  • Incubation

    We incubate businesses, non-profits, community initiatives, and even personal projects. If you have an idea and want help moving it forward, reach out.

  • Restoration

    Come for a sabbatical and we will try to help you design your time for maximum rest and renewal.

  • Inspiration

    We seek to provide regular events to help you flourish. From our regular rhythms to our special events, we seek to curate moments that will engage you!

Exploration

We all need spaces of peace and presence to care for ourselves and others. At Rivendell House, you tell us the goal and we will use our resources to propel you forward on your path. Sometimes that might be silence, other times a listening ear. Let’s connect and see what that might look like for you.

Possible Examples

  1. Whiteboards and quiet to plan out your business plan for next year.

  2. A caring conversation to help you process your priorities and needed next steps.

  3. A room to gather and read resources on photography…because you know you have always wanted to do that.

Incubation

Incubation is more than just space and events. It is our goal to provide an accessible community of support to walk with you through not only your endeavor but also your life. From the prayer/contemplative space for you to enjoy a moment of silence to a community actively lifting you up regularly before the divine, we want to holistically offer you what we have. From office/event space to families to help you think through healthy work practices, Rivendell House seeks to include you in our community. For without a community you cannot fully flourish and grow. With one you can actually rest. Come and try ours..

Possible Examples

  1. Using our space as a coworking space.

  2. Taking a break for silence in our prayer room before a big phone call or asking our community to pray before big deadlines.

  3. Holding meetings or events inside our space.

Restoration

What if a community joined you in planning and executing your sabbatical? What if there was a place you knew you could go to be alone or to find community as needed? Rivendell House seeks to be a place of refuge where you can find rest for your body, mind, and soul or continue the search for those things. Our team will come along behind you to support you in this quest and organize our resources as we are able to make it happen.

Possible Examples

  1. Staying in our short term accommodations for a week and enjoying the beauty of the Hawke’s Bay.

  2. Living in our community for 6-12 months, working and participating in the regular rhythms of the Rivendell House.

  3. Joining our regular rhythms when able.

Inspiration

We believe that beauty does not happen by accident. It takes time and effort to develop skill and perfect your initiative from chaos to beauty. We see this in our own community as well. It is why we seek to not only provide unique events to help inspire and grow our community, but we also to create real moments and healthy rhythms so our community can flourish as individuals and together. Unity in diversity. The one and the many. Our God lived this out as three in one and one in three and we believe we are made in his image. We love the challenge and the journey. Come and participate with us. Receive from us and give to us. Together or not at all.
